Executive Chair of the Board, CEO and President

Mr. Sanghi was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President in November 2024. Mr. Sanghi transitioned to Chair of the Board in August 2024, after serving as Executive Chair since March of 2021. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Microchip since October 1991, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors since October 1993. Mr. Sanghi served as President from August 1990 to February 2016 and has served as a director since August 1990. Mr. Sanghi holds an M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a B.S. degree in Electronics and Communication from Punjab University.

Matthew W. Chapman joined Microchip's Board of Directors in May 1997. Mr. Chapman serves as Chair of the Audit Committee.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Evaluation Association, a global not-for-profit education services organization, from 2007 to 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Chapman was Chair and CEO of Centrisoft, a private software company, and CEO and Chair of Concentrex Incorporated, a public company specializing in software solutions for U.S. financial institutions.

Mr. Chapman holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Portland.

Ellen L. Barker Headshot

Ellen L. Barker joined Microchip's Board of Directors in February 2024.

She served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Texas Instruments, overseeing global I.T. strategies and operations. Ms. Barker's 36-year career at Texas Instruments included roles as Vice President and CIO, as well as Vice President, Controller, and National Semiconductor Integration Manager. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Alliance of Technology and Women.

Ms. Barker holds a B.A. of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin, and an M.B.A. from the University of Dallas.

Rick Cassidy Headshot

Rick Cassidy

Rick Cassidy joined Microchip’s board of directors in May 2025.

He serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy Development at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) and Chairman of TSMC Arizona. During his nearly three decades at TSMC, Mr. Cassidy has held significant leadership roles which include President and CEO of TSMC North America, and the founding President and CEO of TSMC Arizona, where today he holds the title of Chairman.

Prior to joining TSMC, Mr. Cassidy held positions at Fairchild Semiconductor, later acquired by National Semiconductor, and served as an officer in the U.S. Army. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Mr. Cassidy currently serves on the board of Sandisk and on the board of Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA), an organization dedicated to the advancement of the worldwide semiconductor industry.

Victor Peng joined Microchip's board of directors in February 2025.

He served as President of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. from 2022 to 2024. Previously, Mr. Peng served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Xilinx, Inc. from 2018 to 2022, where he was also a member of the Board of Directors. During his 14-year tenure at Xilinx, he was also Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President, and General Manager of Products at various times. He currently serves on the Board and Compensation Committee of KLA Corporation (a provider of process control and yield management systems for semiconductor manufacturing).

Mr. Peng holds an M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Karen M. Rapp joined Microchip's Board of Directors in January 2021. Ms. Rapp serves as Chair of the Compensation Committee.

She served as CFO of National Instruments Corporation from 2017 to 2023. Prior to that, Ms. Rapp held roles as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at NXP Semiconductors and Vice President and CIO at Freescale Semiconductor. She currently serves on the boards of Cohu, Inc. and Plexus Corp.

Ms. Rapp holds a B.S. in Finance from Northern Illinois University, an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and is NACD Directorship Certified.
